FAQ

  • I have never done Pilates before. Where do I start?

If you are new to Pilates or have an injury we recommend you book in for an Initial Consultation before commencing group classes at Reform. An Initial Consultation is a 45 minute private session during which we will conduct a postural analysis, introduce you to the principles of Pilates and advise on which group classes are suitable for you.

  • What is a studio class?

A Studio class is a small group class (max 3-4 people) using large pieces if Pilates apparatus – the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair and Spine Corrector). The instructor sets specific exercises for each client based on their own personal goals – eg. reduced pain, increased flexibility, core strength, postural strength etc.

  • Do you do Reformer Pilates?

We don’t offer large group Reformer Pilates classes, instead we offer small group Studio classes (see above).

  • What is a Springchair class?

A Springchair class uses a piece of apparatus which has springs attached to it for resistance. Whether for the over 50s, pre natal of general population, these classes are focused on developing core strength and stability whilst strengthening the arms, bum and legs. They are also very effective in strengthening the postural muscles.

  • What do I wear?

You will need to be able to move freely and may also break a sweat so we recommend comfortable fitting workout clothes that absorb sweat and allow you stretch without any restrictions. Please also bring a pair of clean socks.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice when cancelling your session otherwise the full fee is charged. This also applies to no-shows. If, however, this is unavoidable, then you can request a make-up session at the time of cancelling, subject to our availability. The make-up class must be completed within 6 days of cancelling.
