Our Sunday Sessions are a fantastic way to complement regular Pilates practice and to learn more about your body and the reasons Pilates ‘works’ on so many levels. With that in mind we have planned these sessions with our instructors over the coming months:
Sunday 19th May 3.30 – 5.00pm : Stability Mat Masterclass with Aoife
This 90 minute Masterclass will explore the most basic element in Pilates: stability. Using a limited number of the mat exercises, Aoife will teach you how each exercise builds stability in the body and then progressively challenges the body in a different ways as you move through the method.
(Suitable for healthy bodies with no active injuries or major back or joint issues and is contraindicated for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia because we will not be modifying the spinal flexion exercises)
Sunday 26th May, 3.30 – 5.00pm : Pilates for Desk Jockeys with Sheena
Do you spend all day hunched over a desk? Do you get a stiff neck and shoulders or low back pain from sitting all day long?
We all know that sitting is the new smoking – this workshop will take you through some simple movements you can do both at your desk or at home to re-balance your posture and keep those niggles at bay.
(Suitable for everyone)
Sunday 9th June, 3.30 – 5.00pm : Pilates for Optimal Bone Health
Often a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoperosis leaves us scared to move at all!
Gain a deeper understanding of osteoporosis in this ninety minute masterclass with Sheena. You will also learn how to find safe and effective movement strategies that you can use both in your Pilates classes and in your day to day life.
