Our Sunday Sessions are a fantastic way to complement regular Pilates practice and to learn more about your body and the reasons Pilates ‘works’ on so many levels. With that in mind we have planned these sessions with our instructors this June:
Sunday 9th June, 3.30 – 5.00pm : Pilates for Optimal Bone Health with Sheena
Often a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoperosis leaves us scared to move at all!
Gain a deeper understanding of osteoporosis in this ninety minute masterclass with Sheena. You will also learn how to find safe and effective movement strategies that you can use both in your Pilates classes and in your day to day life.
Sunday 30th June, 3.30 – 5.00pm: Classical Mat Pilates with Aoife
Pilates now comes in many different forms but they all stem from the traditional system of exercises devised by Joseph Pilates, what we call Classical Pilates. In this 90 minute Masterclass, you will learn the traditional basic mat workout, some of the history of this extraordinary method of body conditioning and how the principles that underlie the method act as a consistent thread through all of the work.
(Suitable for healthy bodies with no active injuries or major back or joint issues and is contraindicated for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia because we will not be modifying the spinal flexion exercises)
