I joined Reform Pilates before Christmas 2016 because I was fed up. I have MS and was riddled with days of full fatigue and reactions to medication. Lack of energy translated to a lack of zest for anything. In my 20s, I practiced Pilates for years and loved it. I turned 40 before Christmas and although I didn’t feel like joining a new place of exercise I pushed myself to join.
I have never looked back. Three months on, I’m hooked on the wide variety of classes available at Reform. I aim for a few classes a week because a month into attending, I noticed something. I hadn’t had one day of fatigue, where something as small as making a cup of tea would cause some stress because the body’s energy levels couldn’t cope. For me, this was enormous progress.
My mental and physical state have improved since joining Reform Pilates. I say that with confidence because I feel incredible, my clothes fit better and in my spare time I read up on Pilates because if I can feel this good in such a short space of time I’ve no doubt I will continue to improve if I continue to practice.
Anna, Shirley, Yvonne, Katie and all the staff make it their mission to help everyone get the best out of Pilates, whether it’s a group or studio class. There is a lovely camaraderie among those who attend too and you very quickly get into the habit of chatting with everyone. I highly recommend Reform Pilates for the benefits of mind and body.
Within a few weeks of starting studio classes with Reform Dublin I benefited from marked improvement in joint pain thanks to Anna and her team’s expertise. The team are always welcoming and the variety of classes and Mariapia’s Ballet Barre soundtrack keep me coming back every week!
I have been with Reform since very shortly after it opened. Before that I’d spent years feeling guilty about not doing any exercise or paying for gym memberships to ease my guilt!! I joined Reform post natal pilates at first, then went onto combining mat and studio classes, and now, for nearly four years combine running and Pilates through Anna’s great OR initiative! Each class offers a huge challenge but also great fun! Anna and the team are incredible, so expert in their field and also so in tune with personalities and how to get the best from each person. I’ve honestly gone from exercising out of guilt to just adoring it!! I have met the most beautiful people, who are now some of my best friends. Morning run, followed by Pilates (and scones! 😊) each Saturday is one of the highlights of my week. One of the best things I’ve ever done was sign up to my first class.
I have had cancer and felt after the treatment that my body was weak and out of line. Over the past few months going to Reform Pilates has been such a great journey for me. I feel stronger and good in this body of mine.
If I was to say anything about Reform Pilates it is that after five classes you feel your getting the breathing right. After ten classes you feel the balance coming back into your body. Following fifteen classes You feel tight and in control of your body and by twenty classes it is part of my life.
Since I began attending Reform Pilates over 55’s classes less than a year ago my balance has hugely improved as has my core strength.
The instructors are friendly but maintain professionalism at all times. They take into account previous injuries and existing weaknesses and modify exercises for individual clients within the group class which I find most impressive.
I started Pilates classes at Reform to improve my tennis game many years after my surgery. I felt that I needed more flexibility especially in my hips and legs. I was amazed when I started to notice a difference in how my chest and shoulder felt. I never thought I would regain movement and strength in that area. I would highly recommend the classes at Reform, they are small and personal, exactly what I needed.
