This Christmas, we are officially closed from Saturday 23rd December to Friday 5th January so that everyone gets a break from the daily routine. Needless to say we don’t expect you stop altogether during this time so we have scheduled five different 90 minute masterclasses to spice things up a bit!
The masterclass schedule is as follows:
Thursday 28th Dec at 10am The ‘Classics’ with Anna (followed by coffee!)
In this 90 minute masterclass, we will go through Joseph Pilates’ original set of movements in the order he gave from his 1945 book Return to Life Through Contrology. Given the time of year, we will begin by mobilising and releasing on the foam rollers, and then go straight into the 34 movements that formed the basis of Pilates as we know it today. This class is reasonably advanced. It is not suitable for those with acute and recent disc injuries, hip replacements, osteoperosis/osteopenia or pregnancy.
Friday 29th Dec at 10am Mindful Movement with Tara
It’s important to have time to rest & digest in our lives and Christmas is a great time of year to do this. So after all that Xmas indulgence we have organised a post Christmas class to facilitate the welcoming of both relaxation & challenge. The class will begin with some light meditation followed by a relatively challenging mix of Pilates with props, designed to stimulate the body (expect to sweat). Some breath work to nourish the nervous system, and ending with an extended Savasana (rest) to calm the mind. Expect to leave feeling rinsed, restored, and ready to embrace the new year. Suitable for all levels.
Saturday 30th Dec at 10am Mat Madness with Tara
A 90 minute masterclass for the curious and outrageous! An eclectic mix of Pilates, yoga, animal flow & breathworks. Bring your inner warrior! Expect a challenge, fun & stepping outside your comfort zone. Suitable for the fit and healthy (injury free) with some energy to burn (aka Christmas pudding!) after Christmas.
Tuesday 2nd Jan at 10am New Year Barre Blitz with Yvonne
A 90 minute Barre class with Yvonne, this will be a fast-paced challenging class set to music and working every muscle in the body, especially the ones you never knew you had! Suitable for everyone who is injury free and looking for a challenge to kick off 2018.
Friday 5th Jan at 10am Foam Roller Release with Anna
A 90 minute masterclass focused on using the foam roller (and other props) to release tension in the muscles using various stretching techniques. Enabling you to start 2018 the way you mean to continue….with a body free of tension and aches and pains. Suitable for all levels.
